Your public profile introduces you to other members. The first and last names you choose appear on your profile and beside your comments. An introduction and a location are optional.

The directory prefers real first and last names, though invented names are welcome. The first and last names you enter at registration become part of a permanent profile URL, much like a handle. A later change to the displayed name leaves that URL intact.

A name field requires at least 1 letter and allows up to 30 characters.

A municipality or ZIP code requires a state, and some Massachusetts ZIP codes also require a municipality.

The introduction allows up to 500 characters.

Contact Permissions

Your email address and phone number stay private unless you choose to share them. To view shared contact details, you must share the email address verified on your account. To view shared phone numbers, you must also share a saved phone number. Your account settings let you stop either choice at any time: stopping email sharing ends all contact access, while stopping phone sharing ends phone access. Starting or resuming either choice begins a new 7-day wait; the phone wait affects only phone access.

Before You Share: A member who views your shared email address or phone number can copy it, contact you without permission, or pass it to someone else. The directory limits access, but it cannot retrieve a copied detail or prevent unwanted messages or calls after you stop sharing. The Contact Sharing Guide explains who can see shared details, how many profiles a member may view, and when a matching bonus applies.

Discussion Emails

A discussion email collects direct replies to your comments and new comments on discussions you joined within the past 30 days. The site sends one only when new activity arrives. The Daily, Weekly, and Monthly settings limit delivery to once every 24 hours, 7 days, and 30 days, respectively. The site selects Weekly for new members. Your account settings control that frequency.
