1. The License Grant

Jonathan Bowen grants the license holder a limited license to use the digital artwork supplied with each purchased Entering Massachusetts municipal sign package under the terms of this license; it grants nonexclusive permission and permits no transfer after its initial designation.

The purchaser receives the license unless the purchase is a gift. The initially designated recipient receives the license when the purchase is a gift; the purchaser receives no additional use rights. The store offers no gift certificates.

The license covers each municipality separately; a discount for purchasing additional municipalities changes the price without combining or expanding those licenses.

2. One Location and Multiple Prints

The license holder may make any number of physical prints of each purchased municipality, using any supplied size or composition, for display at one private household or one physical business location that the license holder owns, leases, or manages. The license covers different sizes in different rooms at that location; the same purchase doesn’t cover another household, business location, rental property, or client site. The license holder may move the collection to another eligible location once no prints made under this license remain at the former location.

3. Private Backups and Professional Printing

The license holder may keep private backup copies of the downloaded files, including copies in private cloud storage. A backup mustn’t provide other people with download access or make the artwork available for reuse. The license holder may send a file to a local or online printer solely to produce prints for the authorized location. The license holder must instruct the printer to use the file only for that order, not to retain or reuse it after completing the order, and not to sell, share, or display the digital file. The printing permission grants no independent right to reuse the artwork.

4. Photographs of the Authorized Display

The license permits a physical print to appear incidentally in a photograph of the household or business location; the digital artwork may not be extracted or reposted as a standalone image, as a logo, as an advertisement, as a website graphic, as a social-media graphic, or as another business identifier.

5. The Uses Excluded

The license excludes making prints for resale, making prints for any location beyond the authorized location, and using the artwork in merchandise, templates, stock assets, or collections intended for redistribution.

The license holder may not share, sell, transfer, lend, sublicense, or distribute the digital files or download links, except for the private backup and printing uses permitted in Section 3; the license also prohibits public links, shared asset libraries, peer-to-peer distribution, and use in artificial-intelligence training or generative systems.

The license permits proportional resizing and routine printer color management to produce an authorized print. An alteration outside those permissions, including recoloring, cropping, tracing, extracting elements, and preparing another artwork from the files, requires separate permission from Jonathan Bowen. The license holder may not remove or falsify metadata concerning authorship, copyright, or source.

6. Download Access and Continuing Use

The store’s download links remain available for 365 days after purchase; the license holder may continue to use files lawfully downloaded during that period under this license after the links expire, unless a material breach terminates the license. The license holder bears responsibility for keeping a private backup. The download period includes no promise of replacement files, updates, continued hosting, or renewed download access after expiry.

7. Independent Artwork and Retained Rights

The artwork serves as independent decoration; it isn’t issued, sponsored, approved, or endorsed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the named municipality, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation, or another government body.

The artwork mustn’t be installed or represented as an official road sign, as a traffic-control device, as a government marker, or as a sign in a public right-of-way.

Jonathan Bowen retains the applicable rights in the original elements of his illustration, selection, arrangement, composition, rendering, and package; his claim doesn’t extend to municipal names, incorporation dates, government specifications, public-domain material, or other unprotectable elements standing alone. The license grants no permission beyond the rights Jonathan Bowen controls; it preserves rights that applicable law doesn’t allow the license to restrict. The purchase grants permission to use the artwork; it doesn’t transfer copyright.

8. Material Breach and License Termination

A material breach terminates the permissions granted by this license. The license holder must delete the digital files and stop making additional copies under this license after termination. The license holder must stop displaying prints after termination; that duty arises from the contract and applies to the extent enforceable under applicable law. The termination alone doesn’t establish copyright infringement from displaying a print whose lawful creation preceded termination. Jonathan Bowen retains any remedies available under applicable law.

9. Separate Store Terms

The store terms of Jonathan Bowen dot Boston separately govern payment, refunds, taxes, privacy, warranty limitations, disputes, and other transaction terms; this license controls the permitted use of the artwork if the store terms conflict on that subject.
