May Day

May Day is a day of renewal… I can’t think of a better day to start a new journal. I’ve started a whole new site, in fact, with a whole new philosophy…

I’ve been sitting on my back deck for the past hour or so, it overlooks a pond, and I’ve been listening and watching nature bloom in front of me… The sights and sounds are fantastic. I get to see and hear all types of wildlife which include so many different varieties of birds. I also get to see waterfowl which includes ducks and geese and, lately, a beautiful swan which has been making its home within my environs. I also noticed, a couple of days ago, that the great blue heron is back for the summer…

I’m getting older, I turned 48-years-old last Sunday, so I’ve learned to enjoy the small things… I don’t have the ambition to conquer the world anymore. I feel like P.T. Barnum as he handed his ringmaster’s baton, during the finale of The Greatest Showman, to his apprentice Phillip Carlyle…

Phillip Carlyle: What will you be doing?

P.T. Barnum: Watching my girls grow up. The show must go on!

I have three young girls and they mean more to me than money but, if I’m being realistic, I need money to be able to nourish and support them…

I still have a passion for the real estate business… I see real estate in everything. I am, however, tired of the grind…

The Greatest Showman, you may not have noticed, was a movie about the real estate business…

  • The movie shows P.T. Barnum admiring the estate of his future father-in-law, Mr. Hallett.

  • The movie shows a young P.T. and his wife, Charity, living in tenement housing.

  • The movie shows P.T. Barnum engaging in bank fraud.

  • The movie references P.T. Barnum buying and improving real estate.

  • The movie shows P.T. Barnum losing real estate to fire.

  • The movie references P.T. Barnum trying to, unsuccessfully, refinance real estate.

  • The movie shows P.T. Barnum making a decision to eschew brick and mortar for canvas and wire.

Phillip Carlyle: The only thing is… I don’t know how we’re going to afford a building.

P.T. Barnum: Right… Building? We don’t need a building… Real estate in Manhattan is a terrible investment. I can get land down by the docks for almost nothing! All we need is a tent…

May Day is a day of renewal, P.T. Barnum knew that he wanted to enjoy the “May days” of his daughters’ lives, and I’d like to enjoy the spring days of my young daughters’ young lives too…

Goals

If you know me, you know that I’m an opinionated guy… I’ve got opinions on everything. I’ve decided that I still have a voice but, here, I’ve decided to keep my opinions to real estate…

I’ve also decided that I want to continue to help people buy and sell real estate…

I can do that, through this site, by referring buyers and sellers, throughout Canada and the United States, to other real estate agents and Realtors… I have an association with ReferralExchange which has helped real estate agents connect their buyers and sellers, since 2005, to more than 140,000 other real estate agents within its network. It’s a win-win-win-win situation…

Do you need a real estate agent? Open the form, complete it and send it to Jonathan… Jonathan will begin the process of referring a vetted real estate agent, within his network of 140,000 real estate agents, to you within 24 hours.
